Vertex Entertainment and Resort Corp, owned by the Philippines' second richest man, is set to open two new casinos in Manila, according to Forbes magazine. The casino is part of a larger project that is planned to be built on a huge real estate project.
Filipino and South Korean companies to partner
Owner Manuel Villar Jr. announced the project as "Bilar City".The city will be located in Metro Manila and will be built on 3.500 hectares (8.649 acres) of land.
The project is not just for Villar, at least one casino will be built in collaboration with a South Korean partner.Sources say the deal has already been completed and the project will be jointly carried out with Dowinn Group, a well-known VIP club operator in South Korea.
There are many reasons why Filipino companies want to partner with Korean companies. One of the most important reasons is the impact Korean tourists have had on the Philippines. As announced by the Ministry of Tourism, they are among the countries with the highest number of tourists visiting the Philippines this year.
More than US$10 billion will be invested in the project, according to Bijar. There will also be a huge shopping project called Vista Mall Global South, where the first casino will be located. The casino will be built on 80 hectares of land in Las Piñas, southwest of the metropolitan area.
A second casino, also in Las Pinas, will be larger, but other details are still unknown.
ambitious project
Villar City will consist of 15 communities as planned, including Taguig, Las Pinas, Paranaque, Muntinlupa, Bakua, Dasmarinas, Imus, San Pedro, General Mariano Alvarez, Silán, General Trias, Tanza, Trece Martires, Carmona and Tagaytay. It consists of a central business district, a university zone, an exciting theme park and two casinos. The 2-kilometer-long Bijar Street connects the various parts of the new city.
Villar commented: "This will be a once-in-a-lifetime job. I won't be able to see it through to completion, but I am proud to say that all of us here are pioneers in the city of Bijar. It will be,” he commented.
He added, "We plan to open the Brittany Hotel here by December of this year, if possible. We also plan to build a golf course, a church, a Coliseum where national and international artists will hold concerts, and a casino nearby. , this is just a part of the city of Bijar, and there are many more ambitious projects underway that will benefit the Filipino people.”
Mr. Bijar is the country's second-largest entrepreneur after the Sai brothers and sisters, ahead of Enrique Lazon, who both run various casino businesses in the country.
