Prosecutors allege Roldan, known to others as Charlie, was the mastermind and responsible for the scheme.Roldan has crafted a complex scheme that evokes the image of strength and solvency while involving others.
rake in money
In 2015, Roldán launched a series of haunted developments in Palma de Mallorca, Llucmayor and Maratisi.Of the 32 property developments advertised and sold by the group, only seven had building lots. The company's only asset was a tractor worth about €7 (US$6,000).
The group managed to rake in more than €300 million from people who believed they were buying unplanned homes.According to the public prosecutor's office, the money was mainly diverted to Roldán's estate. The charges also include making up to 227 trips to unspecified casinos, spending at least €70 (US$743,540) and then getting some of it back.
He used another portion of the funds to pay his co-conspirators an unknown sum of wages.Part of the money was used in Colombia to fund Roldán's flight to Colombia to avoid prosecution.
Spanish Civil Guard found and arrested him in February 2019.In December of the same year, he was escorted to Spain where he was released on bail pending trial.
