A North Carolina lottery winner has been sentenced to life imprisonment without parole for the first-class murder of his girlfriend.
In August 2017, nuclear power plant worker Michael Todd Hill, 8, from Leland, Brunswick County, won $ 54 million in Ultimate Millions scratch-off tickets at a gas station at Mako Depot. ..
He described the moment as "life-changing," holding an oversized check and posing in front of the cameraman, with his wife by his side.
In July 2020, another life-changing moment was the occipital shot of 7-year-old Keona Graham of Navasa, a girlfriend sleeping in a room at the SureStay Hotel in Charlotte, Brunswick County.
Motivation for jealousy
The prosecution said Hill was jealous because Graham, 31 years younger, was emailing another man.According to court documents, the two had been dating for about 18 months.
Graham's body was discovered by the maid around 7:20 pm on July 12th.He did not work as a correctional worker at a Pender correctional facility, so it was around the same time that his mother filed a disappearance report.
According to an autopsy report, Graham was holding a 1-yen coin in his left hand, and the detective found a ziplock bag containing a white powdery substance nearby.
The prosecution revealed from the hotel's surveillance camera footage that only Hill was in the hotel room with the victim.
He was arrested the next day and then confessed to the murder. On May 5, this year, a jury convicted him of a first-class murder.
nice guy
In 2020, the local NBC affiliate WECT spoke to a friend of the victim's family, Tiffany Wilson.
